"Michael Jons: Wicked Thoughts!" will get its 2020 premiere at the Greenbelt Arts Center on March 6-8, 2020.
The idea for "Wicked Thoughts!" began in November, 2016 and developed over the next year. In 2018 we produced several workshop productions of the show in Washington DC, Coral Gables FL, Greenbelt MD and Tawas MI. Those 2018 performances were a great start, but we knew we weren't yet finished.
We went back and worked on the show for another entire year. I'm happy to say that all the that hard work has paid off. The show is finally just what we envisioned it to be back in 2016.
We are incredibly excited to be presenting the finished show this March at the Greenbelt Arts Center theater. You're not going to want to miss it - it's an awesome show!
Please join my email list below for information about all my 2020 performances.
Something wicked this way comes! And you're going to LOVE it!
A fun article in DC Theatere Scene this month!
As the Washington DC area continues to grow as a cultural center for performing arts, one mysterious industry has begun to appear within the District. Seemingly out of nowhere, but really, with a calculated and careful practice, a group of magicians and mentalists have settled into the city and made the magical arts an avenue for entertainment, education and wonder.
Michael Jons
While so many of these in-DC magicians perform skilled misdirections and artful displays of physical impossibilities, one of the curious talents these individuals share is their ability to ‘read minds.’ Michael Jons, a classically trained mind-reader, describes his work in the upcoming Wicked Thoughts as a study into how our personal and group minds are being manipulated, whether it be by politicians, social-media, and propaganda.
“Wicked Thoughts” is my attempt to tell a story which explores the current state of our culture through interactive theater and stage mentalism,” Jons explains. “The audience is the main character of the show, and who better than an expert in behavior and persuasion to help make sense of the current state of our mind?”
In the end, the work each one of these artists deliver a production that is as much theatrical as it is cerebral, in what is a growing genre for DC.
“Our primary goal is always to entertain people,” Jons says. “It’s all about sharing a fun, unique experience. If you go to a comedy club, you expect to laugh. Similarly, if you attend any one of these magic shows, you should expect to experience amazement.”
I can't believe another year has flown by!
2019 has been an incredile year. In addition to our regular performances of "The Psychic Cabaret", we did our first annual Halloween show, "Raising Spirits in the Crypt" and premiered "Michael Jons LIVE", an all-new mentalism show which recieved rave reviews over the summer.
2020 is going to be even bigger starting with a new production of my theatrical stage show, "Michael Jons' Wicked Thoughts", at Greenbelt Arts Center on March 6-8, 2020.
But 2019 is not over yet! Please join me on November 17, 2019 for our last performance of "Psychic Cabaret" this year.
We'll be on hiatus for the holidays but will be announcing 2020 residency show dates soon. Please join our email list to be the first to know!

I went to his show yesterday for a friend's birthday. I must say I was "surprised"! He set the expectation low at the beginning, but he amazed me with every act onward. I was shocked that he could read people minds and give you what you need to hear for your psychic question.

The door to the vault has been sealed.
Thanks to everyone who came out to help me contact the ghosts of Ivy Hill Cemetery this year. "Raising Spirits" in an actual cemetery crypt was a truly memorable experience for everyone. A huge thank you to Lucy Goddin for making the cemetery a place to be visited and enjoyed by the living.
Hope to see you again next October when we will open the crypt once again to see what may be waiting for us inside.
Those who are living
come this day
Down the graveyard path,
lanterns light the way
Into the underground crypt
carved in clay
We're raising the spirit

Thank you Christine Z for taking the time to write such an awesome review of the show. Our first attempt to contact the spirit world was a wild ride.

Come join us!
The leaves are starting to change colors, days are getting shorter, there is a crisp charge in the air and the veil that separates the living world and the spirit world grows thin. Halloween is my favorite time of year.
I've been a collector of haunted artifacts for decades and a student of Spiritualism movement which was wildly popular from the 1840s to 1920s that believes that spirits of the dead can communicate with the living through a seance.
I've often wondered what might happen if I actually tried contacting the spirit world myself, but I would need a small group of people to join me to make it work. And, of course, holding the seance in a graveyard after dark would make it even better.
Come join me, this October, after dark, in the underground burial vault at Ivy Hill Cemetery in Alexandria, Virginia (pictured above) for my new show, "Raising Spirits in the Crypt". I'm not exactly sure what may happen when we attempt to contact the spirit world, but I can promise you that it will be a spooky good time!
We all love a good ghost stories -- this is your chance to be part of one!
Tickets are on sale now! I will only be performing 6 shows this year and seating in the crypt is very limited, so be sure to reserve your seats now.
Some of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Ivy Hill Cemetery Historial Preservation Society.
I have such a great time meeting the people who come to the show. I warn audiences that the show is really all about them, and ultimately only as interesting as they make it. I have to say, DC audiences come through and help create really fun and amazing evenings. They keep me very entertained and feeling very grateful.
As always, THANK YOU to everyone who takes the time to write an online review. I truly appreciate the kind words.

My mind was blown by this guy. He is a gifted psychic...was so much more than I had anticipated. I want to take every skeptic I know to see him. And in addition to his amazing gift, he is entertaining and feel-good. My friends and I laughed, cried, and were left in awe. This will not be the last time I see his show.

My partner and I attended the August 4th show at the Beacon Hotel and it was a great show! It was her first time at anything like this and she couldn’t stop talking about the show after it concluded. I was also amazed at having my future question selected and answered. Definitely was something starting weigh heavily on me and Michael confirming what I was originally thinking just made me feel sooooo much better! In all, we both had a blast. The show was great and extremely entertaining! I would definitely recommend to anyone!!

I'm so happy that somebody in the lighting booth managed to take a picture of the audience getting seated at my show at the Tawas Bay Playhouse.
I walked out on stage at the start of the show only to see two gentlemen in the third row with thier heads wrapped in tin foil! They were hoping that thier tin foil hats would prevent me from hacking into thier heads during the show. I love these guys!
Of course, I HAD to call on them first. I can now confidently report that wearing a tin foil hat to my show will NOT prevent Michael Jons from reading your thoughts.
I'm reallly thrilled to be returning to the Tawas Bay Playhouse in East Tawas this July with my fun and amazing new show "Michael Jons LIVE - More than Mind Games!"
The benefit performances on Friday, July 26 and Saturday, July 27 celebrate the 40th Anniversary season of the Tawas Bay Players and supports their work in creating and promoting the arts in the community.
This is the third year the I will performing at the Tawas Bay Playhouse. I grew up spending all my summers in Tawas. As a kid, I used to perform shows for neighbors on the beach with the seawall as my stage. I love that I can keep that tradition alive all these years later and support the Tawas Bay Players!
This years show features all new, never before seen feats of amazement. I challenge myself to come up with an entirely new show for Tawas audiences every year. This year is no exception. I have to admit that it's a bit scary, but also exciting, to try out new material in front of audiences for the first time. You never know what's going to happen! This year's show is inspired by the games that my family played during our summers on the beach.
Come see what audiences have described as, "A mind-bending, gasp-inducing bucket of fun!" The show is intended for adults but appropriate for audiences of all ages.
Tickets for the 7:00PM performances on Friday, July 26 and Saturday, July 27, 2019 are available online at MichaelJons.com and at the Tawas Bay Playhouse box office.
If gathering in an underground cemetery vault after dark one night this October sounds like your kind of fun, do I have a show for you! "Raising Spirits in the Crypt" will premiere October, 2019 at Ivey Hill Cemetery, in Alexandria, VA.
My artform has roots in the work of 19th century spirit mediums who held seances in the hope of contacting the spirit world. I've been a collector of haunted artifacts and antique spirit seance apparatus for many years, but only recently have I considered actually trying them out. For real.
Ivey Hill Cemetery in Alexandria has kindly granted us permission to use their underground vault. I'm not exactly sure what will happen when we attempt to contact the spirit world this October around All Hallows Eve when the veil between worlds is thinnest, but I can assure you that it will be a spooky good time.
We all love a good ghost story. This is your chance to be part of one!

Fantastic show! Michael is funny and entertaining, and he read the room so well. If you’re a skeptic, he’ll leave you second guessing your stance! This was such a fantastic date and I highly suggest it to anyone looking for a new, fun, out of the box date night or outing with friends!

I'm excited to announce that performances of "Michael Jons' Psychic Cabaret" will be hosted at the The Beacon Hotel in May and June, 2019.
Eno Wine Bar has been a wonderful home for our show over the last three years. Unfortunately "The Cellar" space is undergoing renovation and will not available.
Happily, we have found a wonderful new venue for the show. Performances scheduled for May and June will be moving about a mile down the road to the Beacon Hotel, a premier boutique hotel situated in the heart of Washington, DC.
The Beacon Hotel will be offering food and beverage service during the performance. Street parking is free on Sundays and Valet Parking will be available for $12 at the hotel for show guests.
The best news is The Beacon has more space! Our shows have been selling out months in advance and we are thrilled to be able to make additional tickets available for our May and June performances.
See you at The Beacon!

With friends, or for a date night, GO! We so enjoyed the show. Michael Jons was entertaining, amazing, and completely engaging for 2 hours. My boyfriend went in as a complete skeptic, but let a believer!!! We spent the next 30 minutes gushing about the show. Would definitely go again, and look forward to introducing it to friends!!!
